How 3D Printing Works — Inside the FOFUS Print Farm

From Digital File to Physical Object

At FOFUS, we operate 5 Bambu A1 3D printers that run 24/7, turning digital designs into physical products. Here's how the process works:

Step 1: Design

Every product starts as a 3D model — either designed from scratch by our team, downloaded from open-source repositories, or uploaded by customers for custom prints. We use CAD software and organic modeling tools to create designs optimized for 3D printing.

Step 2: Slicing

The 3D model is "sliced" into thin layers using specialized software. This tells the printer exactly where to place filament for each layer. We use PLA (polylactic acid) — a biodegradable plastic made from corn starch, safe for home use.

Step 3: Printing

The Bambu A1 heats the filament to 210°C and deposits it layer by layer. A small idol takes 2-4 hours, while a large sculpture can take 20+ hours. Our printers run automatically with remote monitoring via PrintDash.

Step 4: Post-Processing

Supports are removed, surfaces are cleaned, and optional painting/finishing is applied. Every piece is quality-checked before shipping.

Step 5: Shipping

Finished products are packed securely and shipped across India. Most orders dispatch within 2-3 business days.

Why 3D Printing?

Traditional manufacturing requires expensive molds and minimum order quantities. 3D printing lets us produce single pieces on demand — perfect for custom gifts, unique decor, and small-batch items that wouldn't be economically viable otherwise.
